The Visualizing Finance Lab at Parsons announces its upcoming symposium Visualizing Finance 1.0: Developing a Common Language. This symposium will bring together illustrators, educators, art directors, journalists and the financial community to develop a shared language and to explore the use of illustration and other visualizations to explain financial concepts. Events will include a gallery talk, a panel discussion, and collaborative studio work.

Tim Robinson, Freelance Illustrator;
Minh Uong, Art Director, New York Times;
Joanne Yoong, Associate Economist, Financial Literacy Center, Rand Corporation

A concurrent exhibition in the gallery will display examples of financial visualizations as well as the studio work generated during the studio/workshop part of the symposium.
