Interim Dean, Hazel Clark<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hazel has held a wide range of academic leadership positions since joining Parsons in 2002, including Chair of Critical Studies (2002-2005), Chair of Art & Design Studies (2005-2008), Dean of School of Art and Design History and Theory (2008-2011), and, most recently, Research Chair of Fashion (2011-2014). As the first dean of the newly-formed School of Art and Design History and Theory, she initiated and worked with colleagues on developing the MA Fashion Studies and MA Design Studies. As Research Chair of Fashion, she coordinated a number of successful high-profile events and academic sessions, bringing faculty and external practitioners whose work engages fashion together in shared research environment. She is also currently chairing the School of Fashion\u2019s Research, Scholarship, and Creative Practice Committee.<\/p>\n

As Professor of Design Studies and Fashion Studies, Hazel\u2019s extensive scholarship on the history of design, fashion, and design education has been published internationally. Recent publications include the co-edited Old Clothes, New Looks: Second Hand Fashion (2005); Design Studies: A Reader (2009); and The Fabric of Cultures, Fashion, Identity and Globalization (2009). She holds a Ph.D in the History of Design from Brighton Polytechnic, a Post-graduate Diploma from Birmingham Polytechnic, and a Diploma in Art and Design from Sunderland Polytechnic, UK. She is also an elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (U.K.)<\/p>\n
