In partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Eileen Fisher, Inc. announced the 2015 winners for the SOCIAL INNOVATOR AWARD: Teslin Doud , Carmen Gama and Lucy Jones, all three BFA ’15.<\/p>\n

In its inaugural year, the EILEEN FISHER SOCIAL INNOVATOR AWARD is offering\u00a0fashion design students the unique opportunity to work alongside the brand\u2019s designers, merchandisers and social consciousness teams. Beginning August 31, the 12-month residency program will invite the three SoF recent graduates\u00a0to create a design solution for the company\u2019s recycled garments that are unsellable and develop strategic solutions and awareness to support the brand\u2019s Vision2020 sustainability goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen announcing this award, we knew it would attract top design talent. What we didn\u2019t expect was the extraordinary vision and raw talent these three graduates possess. We are thrilled to have them build upon our sustainability initiative and hopefully inspire other up and coming designers and brands to shape the impact of design sustainability with a fresh perspective,\u201d said Eileen Fisher, Founder and Chief Creative Officer.<\/p>\n

Lisa Smilor, CFDA\u2019s Executive Vice President, added \u201cThe CFDA is most appreciative to Eileen Fisher for taking a leadership role in supporting the education of designers who are interested in sustainability. By underwriting this very relevant and important post-graduate program, she and her team will be providing the (3) winners with vast knowledge, inspiration and guidance. We look forward to seeing the final outcomes\u201d.<\/p>\n

The winners will each receive a stipend of $50,000, and will be fully immersed within the company with unprecedented access to all aspects of the business to apply sustainability principles, thinking and practices into their careers as designers. As part of their learning experience, the designers will create a collection from unsellable garments provided by Green Eileen, which align with the brand\u2019s Vision2020 sustainability program and commitment to socially conscious design and integrity that Eileen Fisher has been achieved for over 30 years.<\/p>\n
