Carehive

A novel approach to designing caring universities

Project Description
Carehive is an innovative tool designed to help universities assess and improve their care capacities, promoting community vitality, mental well-being, and financial resilience. Grounded in feminist ethics of care, it uses contextualized care indicators and dynamic data visualization to make care performance actionable within institutions such as universities.

Developed during an eight-month research process at The New School amid a historic adjunct faculty strike, Carehive engaged over 150 stakeholders and combined qualitative and quantitative insights to tackle the inadequacy of care in institutions. By fostering trust and collaboration, it empowers universities to create more equitable and supportive communities.
