Bloom Commons

Expanding access to housing for NYC’s most at risk residents

Project Description
Recognising housing as a fundamental right and informed by a ‘housing first’ approach, Bloom Commons seeks to address the housing crisis in New York City and beyond. Building modular, temporary housing on underutilized land, such as for building projects awaiting development, Bloom Commons is able to house those struggling to find adequate shelter within the NYC shelter system. While recognising that permanent supportive housing is the most affordable and effective solution to homelessness, Bloom Commons provides a more supportive and financially viable alternative to shelters.
