Kegen

Kegen

My thesis project, “Kegen,” is a low-poly Unity experience designed to provide users with an interactive exploration of Kazakhstan’s steppes. While sitting comfortably in New York, you will be teleported to Kegen, a village in the South of Kazakhstan where my grandmother used to live. The project aims to address the lack of representation of Kazakh culture in digital media by creating an engaging virtual environment where users can engage with elements of Kazakh heritage. Through low poly graphics and storytelling, users will meet Apashka, a representation of Kazakh warmth and wisdom, and go on a quest around the space to find objects that define the country’s culture.
