Project Background:
Superbugs are strains of bacteria, viruses, parasites, and fungi that have developed resistance to most antibiotics and other commonly used medications for treating the infections.
According to the WHO, deaths due to antibiotic-resistant bacteria are projected to soar to 10,000,000, with super bacteria and cancer ranking as the world’s second leading causes of mortality within 50 years in the future.
As more and more bacteria develop resistance to antibiotics, we realize that the day when all antibiotics will be powerless against bacteria is approaching sooner than we expected.

Through narrative storytelling, interactive installations, projections, and scene design, this project offers a speculative glimpse into the challenges faced by New Topia as it navigates the looming threat of super bacteria.
The Story of Neutopia
In the future, an outbreak of super bacteria makes it difficult for residents of New Topia to recover from bacterial infections. Just as the public is in an uproar, Hemobio Corporation introduces Hemobio Pro, a device that directly filters excess antibiotics from the bladder using biodegradation technology.
Hemobio Products
To address the severe super bacteria crisis and alleviate the burden on the populace, Hemibio Corporation introduces a series of new products:
- Hemobio Pro, which aids in filtering antibiotic residues from the bladder;
- Hemibio Disposal Bag, a disposable and replaceable bag for storing residues;
- Hemobio Haven, a facility dedicated to antibiotic decomposition.
