SubDream is an immersive narrative experience that reimagines the New York City subway as a surreal, nonlinear dream. Spanning VR, animation, and storytelling, the project explores how public space, memory, and disorientation shape emotional perception.Instead of replicating reality, SubDream transforms the chaos, noise, and unpredictability of public transit into a symbolic landscape shaped by memory, emotion, and subconscious logic.Audiences drift through malfunctioning machines, misleading signage, poetic soundscapes, and silent characters—not searching for clarity, but for resonance.
SubDream started as confusion, and ended as connection.
It reflects how I navigated both New York and myself: through glitches, encounters, and loops.
In this project, I found that even the most chaotic spaces can carry poetry. And sometimes, the best way to understand the city is to let it confuse you.
This project is not a solution, but a space to drift. A map drawn in symbols, echoes, and memory.
