Amna Zaidi

MFA design & technology
Hi I am Amna, I am a designer driven by curiosity and a passion for creating meaningful experiences.

Growing up in different cities and now residing in New York City, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from many backgrounds. These experiences have helped me develop a strong sense of empathy, which plays a central role in my design process.

As a designer, I believe there is a fine line between understanding what the user wants and responding to what the design itself asks for. My work blends creativity, technology, and storytelling to solve problems and create experiences that leave a lasting impact.

I believe that every idea has the potential to become real and that design is a tool to connect people and spark emotions.

For me, each project is a chance to explore, learn, and create something that truly matters.

Making Music with Tea

2026

Making Music with Tea explores unconventional ways of making music through embodied interaction and collaborative ritual. Instead of traditional instruments or digital controllers, participants create sound through everyday tea-making gestures such as pouring, stirring, lifting, and passing objects. The installation transforms familiar social actions into a shared musical interface, investigating how creativity and connection can emerge through movement, touch, ambiguity, and collective participation
