Makara is an interactive web experience exploring the survival of ecological knowledge and cultural memory as traditions and the physical spaces that carried them continue to fade.

Makara is an interactive web experience where I invite participants to slow down, be present through simple gestures, and reflect on memory, ecology, and the cultural practices that are gradually disappearing around us. Through sound, storytelling, and interactive moments, the experience guides participants through acts of attention and connection inspired by the ritual and communal traditions tied to Nepal’s historic hiti water systems.

I created this project out of a growing concern for the disappearance of these spaces and the knowledge they once carried through everyday participation and collective care. I wanted to explore whether digital spaces could become places where people can still experience presence, reflection, and connection through interaction.
