ELab is hosting a Fireside Panel for our fellows on raising funds and growing capital: Go Fund Yourself! 

 

Meet our panelists:

• For the 3rd year in a row, we are excited to announce that our own alumnus MS SDM Class of 2015 Shawn Nelson will attend and moderate the panel! Shawn founded LoveSac in 1995. He won a $1 million investment on Fox’s “Rebel Billionaire” show in 2005 and became President of Virgin Worldwide with Richard Branson’s companies for a time. Shawn grew Lovesac to a 60 store (and counting) chain with an ever expanding suite of patented furniture inventions. Lovesac was named America’s fastest growing furniture retailer in 2013.

 

• Susan Shiroma, Senior Social Sector Librarian provides leadership and support for Foundation Center public services for social sector professionals in the NY metro area. She is a popular and engaging Foundation Center training expert and public speaker. She is former Chair of the Consortium of Foundation Libraries, an affinity group of Council on Foundations. Susan is currently on the Board of Directors of King Manor Museum in Jamaica, NY and has contributed over a decade of public service and advocacy work on behalf of New York City’s community education councils. She has an M.L.S. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Barnard College.
