\"Screen<\/a><\/p>\n

The ELab is very excited to announce that <\/span>SMS care<\/span><\/a>, one of this year\u2019s ELab fellows and a social innovation startup that was founded by Thomas Disley and Don Morrison, has won the $13.5K D-Prize and raised a total of $18K that will enable them to run a pilot in Ethiopia this April. The startup aims to break barriers to treating hard-to-reach patients through a system that measures every component of their intervention in real time. This allows them to gather the data for tweaking and adapting their approach, always with the ambition for bigger impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thomas Disley leads the development of operations and strategy, and brings consultancy experience with the UN and The World Bank across Uganda, South Sudan, Palestine, Argentina and Peru. Ron Morrison is a design strategist who leads the human centered design components for the service model of SMS care, alleviating the socio-cultural bottlenecks associated with treatment. Both co-founders are also currently working on a future project that aims to eliminate all preventable diseases in Sub-Saharan Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

D-Prize<\/span><\/a> is a call to the world\u2019s boldest entrepreneurs. It targets entrepreneurs who design new social enterprises that aim to solve one of their distribution challenges. D-Prize awards between 5 and a15 entrepreneurs and helps the selected in finding future funding and grow to impact millions. SMS Care was one of the winners and the ELab is very proud to have such visionary fellows this year who have graduated from Parsons.<\/span><\/p>\n
