This Fall MS Design and Urban Ecologies students were invited to participate in “Inscriptions in relation\u2014from colonial traces to plural expressions<\/a>” which is an international and multidisciplinary project led by Ruedi and Vera Baur from Civic City<\/a> and Dix\u2014Milliards\u2014Humains Research Institute. The work of the students which is part of the multi-year Sunset Park Housing Project developed by three cohorts of the MS Design and Urban Ecologies program will be exhibited at the National Museum of History of Immigration at the Palais de la Porte Dor\u00e9e in Paris next month. The exhibition\u00a0will take place on February 14-16, 2020. It brings together research conducted by theoreticians, creators, and citizens through a scientific seminar, artistic installations, and creative workshops.<\/p>\n

Working as an international network, Civic City and Dix\u2014Milliards\u2014Humains Research Institute develop art and design projects whose objective is to promote engaged citizenship, responsible and open to the world. For the event “colonial traces to plural expressions” the two structures bring together artists, designers, historians, linguists, urban planners, anthropologists (researchers, teachers, students, creators), as well as citizens with expert knowledge of specific location or customs, around creative projects.<\/p>\n

Gabriela Rend\u00f3n, the creator and coordinator of the Sunset Park Housing Project, has been collaborating with City City over the last years. In 2018, Civic City invited her MS Design and Urban Ecologies studio to participate in “Places in relation” which was a multidisciplinary project focused on public space and democracy. The work of the students was exhibited at the Pompidou Center in Paris.<\/p>\n
