Creating a Zero-Waste Garment is an exhibition showcasing design processes and outcomes from a new course taught at the School of Fashion at Parsons School of Design in partnership with Loomstate. Students in the course, Zero-Waste Garment, were introduced to a traditional way of designing and making clothes that avoids wasting fabric, challenging the accepted industry average of 15 percent wastage. Students were encouraged to record their reflections on their learning (and unlearning) in journals throughout the course. The journals are exhibited alongside student-designed garments and pattern layouts.
