“Governing Bodies” is\u00a0a collaborative group show that tests\u00a0democratic mechanisms in creative practice.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the United States\u2019 2016 national election, “Governing Bodies” began as a process to enhance community and to dissect democratic decision making. Over nine weeks,\u00a0the artists in the exhibition met weekly to make work using a variety of voting processes, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of collective consensus.<\/p>\n

“Governing Bodies” features work from current Parsons MFA Photography students Zeshan Ahmed, Maryanne Braine, Siho Chang, Amanda Field, Shannon Finnell, Isadora Frost, Hannah Harley, Mar\u00eda del Mar Hern\u00e1ndez Gil de Lamadrid, Huang Guaier + Wang Runzhong, M\u00f3nika Izing, Jenna Petrone, Ariana Sarwari, and Richard Wade with curation led by Kayla Seifert\u00a0(MA History of Design and Curatorial Practice).<\/p>\n
