Disaster Preparedness in the Constructed Environment features the products of a week-long disaster preparedness intensive<\/a> at the Parsons School of Constructed Environments in Fall 2017. Students developed design responses to natural and human-made disasters across the disciplines of architecture, interior design, lighting design, and product design. Generated from design briefs on New York-related disaster scenarios of the 1977 and 2003 blackouts, 9\/11, and Hurricane Sandy, and fortified with resources and data gathered by The Japan Foundation Asia Center and student researchers from The New School\u2019s Zolberg Center on Migration and Mobility<\/a>, this exhibition provides fuel for SCE’s Disaster Preparedness Intensive 2.0, from September 24-28, 2018. This school-wide intensive is the final stepping-stone across the past three years to the first North American exhibit of Hirokazu Nagata\u2019s Earth Manual Project<\/a>, opening September 27 in the Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Gallery.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
