Prompt: Memories from the future
Blair finds a spell book at an antique shop and is captivated by the ritual “Finding the Other You in the World.” Curiosity drives her to cast the ritual, resulting in a strange transformation in which her body and spirit blend with the natural environment. When she opens her eyes, she finds herself in a different country from the future that has been invaded by her own. The year is approaching a deadly battle between the two nations. In this strange environment, Blair falls in love with a boy who shares her interests. Their brief, perfect romance is cut short when he gets inducted into the military and never returns. Blair, heartbroken but determined, recognizes that this time and place are not hers, but her experience has given her a purpose. Using the magic again, she returns to her own time and then sees a future in which she comes to power, liberates the oppressed, and avenges her lost love.
Blair is now adamant in molding her present to attain that future, respecting the boy’s sacrifice and seeking justice.
