For my piece, I wanted to make a stool that could be used in small apartments or around a studio. Two major factors were the ease of use and portability. The stool is made up of half-inch plywood and metal hinges as well as rope. When carrying the stool it resembles the silhouette of a tote bag which is easy to carry. The seat is turned into a handle and the legs collapse together while being held together by velcro. All it takes to transform this stool is a simple act of pulling up on the handles. The stool legs are securely fastened by a rope that is intertwined to each side opposite handle so that the tension created when sitting will push the seat together rather than away.
