This piece is a visual statement on religion in relation to the current coronavirus pandemic. Coiled delicately by hand, the gold wireframe represents the outline of a mask, and the teardrops resemble the emotion and vulnerability that religion, as well as the coronavirus pandemic, are evoking globally. Although this wire mask takes a simple appearance, there is detail and intricacy within the work, which is representative of our emotional vulnerability. The openness of the mask is symbolic, as it can be interpreted fluidly and openly, similar to religion. Ultimately, Tears of Gold<\/em> is meant to display emotional vulnerability in a meaningful and relatable way, forcing us to come together while being apart as the world faces uncharted.<\/p>\n
