The piece was done with the intention to learn how the masters painted with oil paint as their medium. Specifically, we were exploring the Venetian painters’ techniques. My main goal was to apply the proper layers in the painting in order to reproduce the colors’ optical mixture. Interestingly, with this technique, each color was different in every stage of the painting, once it was dry, I applied a different color on top. The final effect gives us a rich mixture of different colors which are supported by a general unifying atmosphere.<\/p>\n
