{"id":13431,"date":"2021-06-22T23:13:05","date_gmt":"2021-06-23T03:13:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/parsons.edu\/undergrad\/?post_type=student-work&#038;p=13431"},"modified":"2021-06-22T23:13:05","modified_gmt":"2021-06-23T03:13:05","slug":"william-hsu","status":"publish","type":"student-work","link":"https:\/\/parsons.edu\/undergrad\/student-work\/william-hsu\/","title":{"rendered":"William Hsu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inspired by the GroundCycle system by Vivian Lin, and repair cafes, I decided to create a thrift system in Taiwan, where thrift stores and second-hand clothing are stigmatized. The purpose of project TEXILE is to take the clothes that are going to end up in the trash, back to the closet in order to reduce fabric waste. To do so, a group of designers will come together like a repair cafe and redesign clothes so that they are &#8220;cuter&#8221; and more seasonal so that people would wear them for a longer time. By altering old, oversized garments and reforming plain designs, we could minimize the amount of clothes being thrown out, and normalize wearing thrifted outfits.<\/p>\n<p><a
