Fool\u2019s Requiem is a photo montage based on the fear of marriage, and the way I have viewed marriage growing up. I wanted to create this photo Roman in order to process a conversation I had with my sister about her change of expectations about marriage. Growing up, we both view marriage as a final stop rather than an option. As a kid, I always dreamed of being married, but as I have grown I realize that there is more to life than just marriage. The images used are found images of weddings and couple photos primarily from my family photo album, images from the Natural History Museum, and images of my sister. The audio is taken from the songs “Mary” by Alex G. and “Wake Up! Dodo” by the Pillows. The voices in the audio are my friend, Skyler Martin talking about a recurring dream she has had and my father reading the english translation of the song “Wake Up!
