For this laser wear project, I interviewed my client on her preferences for jewelry and designed a necklace using Adobe Illustrator and the laser lab. My client said that she liked simple and dainty jewelry that could be worn every day and that her style leaned towards the minimal, elegant side. She also mentioned that she wanted natural elements such as flowers. The first design I thought of was a simple necklace that had four charms\u2014flower, bud, leaf, butterfly\u2014and a silver chain. My client and I discussed her preference for color, and she said that she wanted either gold or silver. I chose silver because not only did it fit my design better, but also it was her usual color choice for jewelry. In conceptualizing and creating this jewelry, I mainly focused on making something that my client would actually use every day. I tried to keep the minimal aesthetic but also incorporate the unique characteristics of my client that would make the jewelry meaningful and add to her style.
