Throughout my life, I\u2019ve struggled with coming to terms with who I really am and how others perceive me. Living on the island of Bermuda for my whole life and being locked within a close-knit community, I\u2019ve been taught to believe that conflict is best avoided by fitting in with those around you, whether this be what I choose to wear, the tone and flamboyancy of my voice, and even to the way I choose to stand. It wasn\u2019t until I left Bermuda that I realized that I did this; now my perception of who I actually am has become an empty void. This piece is dedicated to this lost part of my identity.
