My project is meant to be a documentation of this conversation about what I took away from Kan, how I responded to his concerns and thoughts, and where we resonate with each other. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding the final display, I referred to a common habit between Kan and me: recording meaningful ideas in writing. I asked Kan to write the first two phrases as if he is kept on track with his thoughts in the notebook. I took pictures of the notebook and him doing the gesture I designed. Then, I repeated this process myself for the other two terms. Ultimately, I collaged the texts, the images of gestures, and our signature (which I cropped from the portrait we did for each other) to make this outcome look like a scan of two sketchbook pages. I intentionally edited the images to fit our aesthetic preferences.
