During a stressful period, I embarked on a project to create something whimsical and uplifting. Inspired by Mary Poppins, I sketched two characters: a lady holding an umbrella and a magician with a bunny. Their interactions represented the enchantment found in the ordinary world. Additionally, I drew birds outside the window, creating a playful and serene composition. To visualize how the sketches would interact with the surroundings, I traced them onto clear acetate paper. Satisfied with the result, I finalized the design and prepared it for sticker printing. Using Illustrator’s Image Trace feature, I created a black colored design, accompanied by a magenta cutting line for precision. With the stickers printed, I stuck them onto the lounge windows on my floor, creating whimsical illusions. The project aimed to be fun and seamlessly blend with the surroundings. The characters offered various arrangements and interactions, resembling a playful puppet show with endless possibilities. As I immersed myself in the project, I developed unique personalities and backstories for each character, fueling my creativity. The lack of limitations allowed me to design freely and place the characters as desired. Completing the project brought a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment. The fun and whimsical nature of the stickers had the potential to bring joy to others. Exploring different sticker placements and interactions added to the enjoyment.
