For this task, my partner and I were greatly moved by Andy Warhol\u2019s \u201cNine Jackies\u201d when we visited the Met. We both agreed to use this piece as an inspiration. I first experimented with different materials. Newspapers, watercolors, pens, color pencils, markers, acrylic paints, pencils, charcoal, oil pastels, and Photoshop were among the tools I employed. I decided to recreate Andy Warhol\u2019s poster for my project, so I started by using some leftover sheets from our last studio lesson, when we used straws to blow off ink. I cutted out several patterns with some scissors and used the remaining cutouts from another piece I did to work with other materials. My intentions for this project was to create a character like in a children\u2019s book of \u201cme\u201d to give the audience a feeling of nostalgic childhood memories and also to create an abstract version of my self-portrait. By using the art supplies I had left over from the previous lesson and a white colored pencil. Then, I added a few additional positive texts from the essay we had written in Seminar. Additionally, I used a variety of pens and font styles to write it, giving it the look and feel of a poster. In order to make the preceding poster more reminiscent of Andy Warhol\u2019s work, I used repetition in Adobe Photoshop, just as Warhol had done in his own.
