This project is a profound exploration into the historical resonance of Little Island, specifically delving into its past identity as Pier 54 and its connection to the Titanic incident. It was inspired by the pivotal moment on April 18, 1912, when Titanic survivors disembarked at Pier 54. The project serves as an augmented reality (AR) monument, aiming to unravel the emotional aftermath and reactions of people waiting at the pier. The AR experience, accessible through a QR code, vividly portrays diverse emotional reactions from individuals awaiting news on the island that become a layer of history to Little Island. The work is an illustration in augmented reality that uses color exploration, body expression, and depiction of events as a monument to the Titanic tragedy. Through an AR camera screen window, the project aims to transport the audience back in time to make people feel and experience the chaos and conflicting emotions from the aftermath of the tragedy.
