I wanted to incorporate objects that had both meaning as well as enjoyability in my piece. I used Gestalt theory to create a composition that includes a foreground, middle ground, and background. I chose blueberries because I correlate them with breakfast, a meal of great importance to me. Not only are they eaten with my ideal breakfast, but they also remind me of my dad. Orchids are flowers that always make me think back to my childhood; I have clear memories of seeing them often and my home currently has orchids in the living room, although long dead. Historically, orchids have represented beauty and strength in Victorian England. I feel that these are traits I desire to become. My background portrays my collection of earrings.
