This work is inspired by the Brutalist architecture movement, as well as the French Industrial Revolution painter Gustave Caillebotte. Using this architecture movement\u2019s emphasis on functionality\/lack of ornamentation and cold, sleek aesthetics, as well as the depiction of the working class wearing suits in Caillebotte\u2019s paintings, I am responding to the current struggle of a sense of being trapped in a cycle of work, and the lack of time for anything outside of it. I created a suit in reference to Caillebotte\u2019s figures and blended this with brutalist motifs, such as horizontal and zigzag lines.
