My matchbox was based on a restaurant called Industry Kitchen. It is known for being right next to the east river and the old boats docked there. I created stamp like icons and a very industrial font to create my design. The colors were inspired by the cement and green tiles in the restaurant. I chose to make it larger than a normal matchbox because something big and bulky resembled the industrial areas in NYC and would definitely stand out on a table.
