AAS Fashion Marketing students Gina Paljusevic, Jane Choi and Sunmin Park were awarded with the 2018 ISKOOL Marketing prize in Milan.
Developed by ISKO, the world’s leading ingredient brand in quality denim manufacturing committed to developing an integrated field-to-fabric approach in every step of the value chain, the ISKOOL prize is an international award for students of fashion marketing and design. The competition aims to stimulate the expression of creativity while teaching students how to industrialize ideas, letting talent take shape and thrive. The students were asked to develop a complete marketing strategy intended for an existing consumer brand which is launching a line of clothing that fully embodies the idea of a “Responsible and Positive Vision of the Future” (UnDocumented).
Competing with students globally from Polimoda, Bunka, Instituto Marangoni and FIT, the group’s millennial maternity concept and collection for ACNE denim using ISKO Reform™ stretch technology was awarded the top prize. The group focused on the emotional connection to maternity jeans and the waste created in this sector. The group effectively and critically addressed the “2.5 billion millennial consumers worldwide who intend to experience purchase as a ‘social contract’ that is emotionally and ethically binding. Transparency, increased competition, and instant connection make consumers (especially millennials) more inclined towards buying products that can express more value than their price and, most of all, they expect a company to be good – good for people, good for society, and good for the planet.”
The students will be awarded with the opportunity to intern with one of ISKO’s brands (including Eco-Age, Seven For All Mankind, G-Star RAW).
