Sisu

Natasha Tolia

Sisu is a project utilizing interaction and visual design to address stagnation and immobility in the response of individuals to the climate crisis.

Climate change is a global emergency at an immense and systemic scale, making it difficult for some to conceptualize what meaningful response looks like at an individual level. Sisu operates from the perspective that the reason for this paralysis is a combination of the complexity and scale of the problem with a perceived divide between our daily individual lives and ecologies of the planet.

Therefore, through a creative web interface and other design materials, it seeks to elevate consciousness about one's personal relationship to this collective challenge using ideas from literature and theory dealing with social ecology.
