Growing up in Southern California, the quintessential Sunday morning involved grabbing a cup of coffee and heading to the local farmer’s market. Part of the appeal of going to the Farmer’s Market is the ability to walk around the market without any preconceived expectations of what you are going to discover as you stroll around. Moving to New York and going to Parsons exposed me to more diverse forms of the market. Another major part of the appeal of going to the Farmer’s Market for me was the ability to talk to the vendors of the food that I am purchasing. It is always fascinating to understand the origins of the food or the groceries that I am picking up, whether it be for health, diet, or just general curiosity.
