A Letter to Mom
As an international student who left home at the age of 14, I have always found it difficult to communicate with my mother effectively due to drastic cultural values. In this project, I am writing a letter to her in the form of a video, aiming to express the long-overdue gratitude and love that I have for her. During the process of creating this project, I realized that communicating and offering support for someone does not always require solving all the problems in their life. I learned that sometimes, simply acknowledging and empathizing with the emotions and experiences of others can be just as powerful. In this project that I dedicate to my mother as this year’s Mother’s Day gift, I want to tell her: “No matter what happens, I am always there for you, available for love and respect.”
