Follow the story of a Vietnamese girl as she navigates family expectations, academic pressure, and finding ways to cope in this thought-provoking 2D organization puzzle game.
Fitting Burdens is a narrative 2D organization puzzle game that demonstrates some struggles and coping mechanisms of living and growing up in an Asian household, inspired by experiences of my own and others’ from the same culture.
The game has 25 levels in total and is divided into 3 stages: Happy Childhood, Troubling Teenage Years and Moving On. There are cutscenes in between each level to convey the narrative better. The player experiences the life of a young Vietnamese girl through doing everyday activities like chores or packing books to go to school. The narrative slowly expands as her environment and dynamics in the relationship with her family changes.
