The Journey of A Whale is a game developed using 2D Unity, and it immerses players in the marine pollution dilemma faced by marine life through in-game interaction in a very short period of time. The main focus of my research is to design a game that can raise awareness about the dangers of human-induced ocean pollution to marine life. Contextually, my research is about how to design a game with gameplay, in-game narrative, and game environment that expresses the current threat of human-induced marine pollution to the living environment of marine life.
The concept is to create a game that allows players to quickly and easily understand the impact of marine pollution on the environment. The aim of the game is to encourage players to feel responsible for causing these pollution problems, think about them, and take even small practical actions to protect the marine environment in the future. Ultimately, I hope this game can arouse people to think about the problem of marine pollution, to feel guilty for causing these pollution problems, and to take even small practical actions to protect the marine environment in the future.
