Firestar's Interactive World of Play

Firestar’s Interactive World of Play explores how the transient qualities of cosplay allow for playful experimentation with identity and suggests ways to provide a safe space for this experience. Set up as an interactive installation and performance, the World of Play gives participants the chance to “create their own character”. Live performance, dress-up, a mini photo session, and short exit interview support an environment designed to demonstrate the value of how safe, non-judgmental character play opens the possibility for experimentation with character identity, self-discovery, and reflection on the parts of ourselves that we may keep hidden.
