Rehana Esmail is a German born New York based independent filmmaker who graduated from The New School in 2013. Her work ranges from poetic cinema to documentary filmmaking while having a particular interest in the relationship between cinema, philosophy and anthropology. Her short film, Loin De Nous was shown at various film festivals. She has launched a platform called Cinelogue – a collaborative, curated film streaming platform that promotes critical cinema and dialogue with services evolving to bring more cinema by BIPOC filmmakers beyond the western canon to audiences across the globe.. They launched their pilot in January 2022 with the debut program Cinema After Liberation.
