An Open Studio Tribute to Siri Berg, Former Fine Arts Professor at Parsons

Swedish American artist Siri Berg (1921-2020), who taught Color & Design and Color Theory at Parsons from 1982 – 2013, was known for her exploration of color.

Siri passed away on April 8, 2020 during the pandemic. Friends and family, students and colleagues haven’t had a chance to celebrate her life and her work.

On Saturday, March 13 at 3:00 PM EST, Jason Andrew of the Artist Estate Studio will host an Instagram Live walkthrough of Siri’s studio for visitors to have one last look at where Siri lived and worked in NYC.

Tune in to Jason’s Instagram page at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 13 to celebrate Siri’s life and work.

“Like Josef Albers and the other Bauhaus artists who inspired her, Berg devoted her attention to the fundamental elements of visual art: color, light, shape, form, material and composition. Her straightforward artworks succeeded through their honesty and confidence.” – IdeelArt.com
