My Mother’s Daughter is a photographic series about my relationship with my mother and the deeper
complexity within our dynamic. Through polaroid snapshots, I examine the story of our codependency,
the blurred role of mother and daughter, shared trauma, and motherhood. As I age into my own woman I
see her in my face, in my hair, in my words, and even in my actions. The memories of our past are
blurred and disoriented similar to the polaroid. As we age together our dynamic becomes more
complex but our trauma has always stayed.
