The New School presents an exhibition on the design and construction
of the Oyster Garden Flotilla, a fully functioning oyster garden
intended for use in New York City’s waterways. The result of a
collaboration between students at Parsons and Eugene Lang College The
New School for Liberal Arts, the project merges art, sustainable
design, field science, and activism. The exhibition presents designs,
models, photographs, and scientific data documenting the yearlong
project. The Oyster Garden Flotilla is both an artistic interpretation
of New York’s rich estuary history and a sustainable means of purifying
wastewater.

The Oyster Gardens of NYC class is offered through the Lang Wellness program.
