We invite and welcome prospective students to visit Parsons School of Design at The New School in New York City. The Parsons Admission Office hosts a wide range of virtual and in-person events throughout the year. You can learn all about the process of applying or transferring, the preparation of a portfolio, and life in our classrooms through the following resources, visiting our Admission and Aid and Graduate Admission Events sites.
You can learn specific details about the MS Design and Urban Ecologies program by joining one of the upcoming virtual information sessions. During these events, prospective students will learn more about the program’s vision, curriculum, and unique studio-based approach that combines theory with hands-on practice in New York City and beyond.
Faculty and students will share their experiences, and there will be time for questions about admissions, scholarships, and opportunities after graduation. Whether you are passionate about urban justice, ecological sustainability, or the future of city-making, these sessions are an opportunity to explore how Design and Urban Ecologies can prepare you to lead transformative change.

We are excited to announce the start of the new admissions cycle for the MS Design and Urban Ecologies program. Admission to the program requires completion of the bachelor's degree before the start of the term of entry.

To be most competitive for admission and merit scholarship consideration, please submit your completed admission application with all required materials, including your portfolio or other supplemental materials if required, by the priority deadline: January 5, 2026.

Our interdisciplinary program attracts students from diverse backgrounds, including the arts, humanities, social sciences, law, governance, political sciences, design, architecture, and environmental studies. First time developing a portfolio? This could be a hunting task, but it is easier than you think!
