2019 Veronica Lee

Dressing Body, Undressing Humanity is a deconstruction of human nature through the process of dress. This thesis explores the capacity of depravity within human beings using the symbolic decaying nature of the body as a metaphor for the decline of human mortality. From the overconsumption of resources, the abuse of others, the massive scale of destruction in warfare, and our individual offenses against one another, we see human beings commit atrocious acts throughout history and invariably in our daily lives.

The School of Fashion at Parsons is renowned for the strength of its curriculum, which develops graduates with exceptional conceptual, design, technical, and marketing skills who combine aesthetic refinement with commercial savvy. Through working with an array of faculty who are active in the global fashion industry and collaborations with top design groups, students in all five programs develop distinctive aesthetic sensibilities along with diverse points of view that reflect the industry they will one day join.
