Notes on Reminiscences

Josefina Biscailuz

Notes on Reminiscences is an ongoing artistic exploration focused on the digital translation of the abstraction that makeshift memorials possess on the physical world.

The study concentrates on the themes of digital posthumous presence and the convergence of the digital, physical, and spiritual “realms”. Artifacts will be created to embody these aspects through a combination of mediums such as Chrome Extensions, AR and 3D printing utilizing 3D scans of objects traditionally placed in memorial sites.

Currently, the project stands as a zine-like online publication that contains a compilation of prototypes and research. Due to the circumstances the completion of the artifacts is on hold but will continue once the situation allows for it.
