Run: The world in a single word

When I look around, everything I see is running: People, traffic, and time. According to linguist, Simon Winchester, the English word "run" is the most complex word that contains almost 645 definitions. And it brings up this question: Do other countries also use "run" in the same way as the English?

Compared to the flexible use of English “run," Koreans use it differently. In Korea, we translate "run," in two ways: "뛰다(ttwida)", 달리다(dalida). Even though their origins are not the same, Koreans consider that two words are the same through cultural and historical influences.

However, those two words have different nuances. And they have ambiguous definitions of those uses of words that it is hard to explain their difference.

Therefore, by using a website, the project shows the different uses and nuances of “run” between Korea and the USA with motion graphics.
