In the past, a lot of external factors have influenced women’s rights regarding reproduction. Conflict arises when forces such as religion, politics, and social standards come into play. Religion can alter the way a woman decides whether or not to keep a baby. While laws of politicians may leave a pregnant young teen with no option to abort an unwanted child. This leaves the question: do women ever have reproductive rights or is it decided by outside forces in our society? In my thesis project, I want to create an immersive dystopian narrative about how women are deprived of control over their reproductive functions in a totalitarian society in the near future, thus illustrating the predicaments and perplexities that women are facing when it comes to reproductive rights and abortions.
