From researching the history of Ninja in the Sengoku period, I’ve learned that the notion of Ninja wearing solid black hooded clothing is just a Hollywood myth. In the context of video games, Ninja was often depicted wearing black to convey the notion of invisibility. It is simply an incorrect depiction. Generations of people are being misled with this incorrect image of Ninja, including myself. For thesis, I brought back the accurate representation of Ninja through the lens of game characters to raise public awareness.
