Elab’s core team is composed of faculty, student administrators, and researchers who work passionately and tirelessly with a shared vision along with its founder Rhea Alexander, an alumna as well, to build our community of support.
Rhea is the founder and director of the Entrepreneurial Lab. Started in 2014 to prototype a distributed model of an academic incubator with design at its core. Rhea has been actively involved in the startup community, sits on the board of a startup, and works closely with founders, investors, and industry experts. As a board member of the NYC Innovation Collective, she is actively involved with over 220 incubators and accelerators across the NYC area. Alexander is an innovation strategist, educator, author, and entrepreneur with expertise in interdisciplinary design approaches to entrepreneurship and social impact. She is a professor at Parsons School of design and has served in leadership capacities for both the graduate (Ms) and undergraduate (B.B.A.) programs in Strategic Design and Management at Parsons School of Design. She has taught, developed curriculum and programs across undergraduate and undergraduate space for over ten years. An award-winning entrepreneur with over 21 years of experience, accompanied by her expertise in design, gives her unique advantages in the field and fuels her passion for sharing the positive impact design, innovation, and entrepreneurship can have on the ecosystem and on one’s self-actualization.
