From September 26 through October 3, 2014 School of Design Strategies hosted a group of 50 students and professors from three Italian universities: Università IUAV di Venezia, Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, and Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona. Together with students of Design and Urban Ecologies, and professors Victoria Marshall, Quilian Riano, and Miodrag Mitrasinovic, they engaged in a week-long workshop aimed at developing alternative urban scenarios for Roosevelt Avenue in Queens, New York. A publication and exhibition of the proposed urban strategies will follow in January 2015. Lectures during the workshop week included presentations by professors David Burney (Pratt Institute) and Sandro Marpillero (Columbia University and Marpillero Pollak Architects).
